ISS Finland Recommends SAO for AAU
Introduction
Driven to bring innovation, savings and sustainability to clients, the ISS team at Abo Akademi University (AAU) in Finland introduced the tersano Stabilized Aqueous Ozone (SAO®)system to the university as a labor-saving, all-in-one cleaner, sanitizer and deodorizer. In September 2017, all chemical cleaners and sanitizers were removed from the AAU Arken building and replaced with SAO, an innovative patented technology for an effective, simple and safe alternative to toxic chemicals. Testing would take place over three months. After three months, results would be analyzed and a recommendation offered.

Action
During the three months, the ISS team monitored the cleanliness, air quality, productivity and savings from cleaning with SAO instead of traditional chemical detergents. Only one, highly-specialized chemical was needed for removing hard water stains, lime and wax. The test was a resounding success. SAO is an approved active sanitizer for up to 24 hours and a cleaner for 6 days. The extraordinary safety of the tersano solution makes it ideal for schools, hospitals, and any other spaces with people sensitive to chemical-based cleaners—like at AAU.
